Excellent food, friendly staff, decent prices. The ambiance was kind of wedding-style (table arrangement), maybe it was because it was Valentine's Day?

We were a group of five women for dinner on Saturday, because we had heard only good recommendations and that there was live music. The atmosphere was very pleasant and cheerful. We took three appetizers to share, and then four main courses, also to share. The dishes were a combination of Italian and local cuisine – very tasty, prepared to a high standard, with a rich and varied selection. The staff was attentive and friendly, and a special shout out to our Belma who spoiled us throughout the evening and made our experience even more beautiful. See you again soon!

Recently went on a group tour of Croatia and decided to try Fidel Gastro since one of the couples had dined there the day before, they wanted to go again so we went together. Our server was kind, polite and very knowledgeable about the drink and food options. The bar area was beautiful and the overall atmosphere was quiet and inviting. My husband and I ordered a chicken dish and a pasta dish and it was amazing! We also tried Aura Teranino which was great as well. If we were in Croatia longer, we would have definitely went again.

We randomly chose Fidel Gastro because we were staying at a nearby hotel and we couldn’t be happier with the choice! The interior is very welcoming and the restaurant staff very attentive. The food was delicious with large portions. Shown are the cheese, nuts and honey appetizer, mixed salad with pumpkin, beet and goat cheese, fettuccine with olive oil and garlic, tataki tuna, and a chocolate and cherry dessert that was divine. The Crni Pinot wine recommended by the waitress was also delicious. We left very full and happy, definitely recommend :)

It was my first time trying out a Croatian restaurant and did not disappoint. Ambience was nostalgic with memorabilia showing day to day items across the decades. I even saw a sewing machine that I remembered from my childhood. My companions and I tried several dishes with the meat platter (can't remember what's it called) being the best. Protein overload. We were also served their craft beer and quite sweet. Definitely a place I will try again.

We had valentines day here. Been craving dumplings for ages and this restaurant offers unlimited dumplings on Mondays. The ambiance was amazing, food was top notch, service and staff are top tier! My experience made it really good because we had a wonderful waitress named Kristine! She was very hospitable and took care of us. I cant say any negative thing about this place.

Do you want a great meal, at truly fine restaurant? It would be a great choice to eat here. We ordered the "grill" from our waiter Dimitre (spell?), he was so right for the job. Our salads were super fresh, the grill featured different local meats and roast potatoes. It was both delicious and healthy, and big portions; it was delightful. This was more than just a meal, it was a true taste of Croatia's history, delicacies and tastes. All served in perfect timing by Dimitre.

One of the best places in Zagreb to eat grilled meat! Restaurant is placed in the basement so no windows, but apart from red table cloths that’s the only thing that might bother someone. In the evening they often have live music and place is packes. Male sure you book a table in advance as it is rather popular. Food is really good and so is the service. There is parking around the restaurant but you have to pay per hour most of the times.

This is the best štrukli you will ever have in your life—in fact, it was so delicious that I got it twice in one sitting. The truffle one is the most popular savory option and the blueberry one is the most popular sweet option. I also had a yogurt drink which paired very well with this traditional classic Croatian dish. The vibes here were cozy (inside seating) and perfect for solo travelers who need some comfort food on a cold/rainy day or after an emotional visit to the Museum of Broken Relationships. If you’re not going alone though, then definitely make a reservation!

We ate two times at La Štruk and we loved both of them! The service is very friendly, polite and professional! The dry white wine is exceptional and not so dry. We had the salty cheese The truffle paste and the roasted paper, which was a little bit spicy. And of course they are pet friendly inside and outside !

Unexpected, more than satisfying experience overall. It did start with a deer carpaccio that was excellent, only burdened with too many add-ons. Shame, because when all of the extras were removed, the meat itself was blissful. However, lamb in Parmesan cheese and with spinach puree was just right. Winevise, if you order by the glass, you can expect a good pour and fresh wine. Also, instead as an aperitif, house made Botanist liquer proved itself even better as a digestive. Cheers!

Great lunch bentos 🍱, food was delicious! Wine could be more affordable - spending on it shouldn’t be much more than the food. Desert was average, but the taste and quality of food pays it off.

This restaurant has been repeatedly awarded a Michelin star year after year — and it truly deserves it. Its reputation in Zagreb is well-earned and widely recognized. Upon arrival, we were greeted with smiles, and the atmosphere is somewhat dark and mysterious, adding to the experience. Once the food arrived, it was immediately clear that this is top-tier Japanese cuisine, with flavors that perfectly matched the impeccable presentation. My favorite dish was the pork belly bun, and I will definitely return multiple times. The only minor critique is the music, which currently plays pop from the radio rather than matching the Japanese theme — I hope this is adjusted before my next visit.

Good location, traditional style interior with enough place inside and not overcrowded, it has own parking which is big plus. I tried pljeskavica and homemade beer, dark one, I can't remember name. Everything was delicious, beer was excellent and tasted really good. Staff and service was quick and professional, no complaints at all. Only downside is price, everything is quite expensive and food portions were quite small. I will give 4 stars.

We were driving from Brussels to Athens and did a stopover in Zagreb for the night. As we were walking we came across the restaurant sign and decided to check it out. It’s deep at the end of an alleyway don’t miss it. Nice atmosphere and two sisters were performing with a guitar English and local songs. Ordered and what a positive surprise. The food was fresh, tasty and overall well prepared and presented but the highlight was the music. The sisters killed it at ABBA, Simon & Garfunkel and other 70-00s songs. It was great food with delightful music. Make sure you go when the girls are there. Loved them.

Lovely Spot for a Refreshing Break in Zagreb! Arrived in Zagreb today on a very hot day, and the first thing we wanted was some refreshment—so we stopped at this beautiful establishment. I ordered a Gin and Tonic. They didn’t have my favorite gin, but the staff recommended a great substitute, and I was not disappointed. The drink was served in an amazing glass, which added a nice touch. Our table was a bit wobbly at first, but the waitress immediately offered to fix it—and she did, with a smile. Great service! My kids also had their drinks and brought sushi with them, which the staff kindly allowed. That kind of flexibility is rare and definitely worth mentioning. We had a great experience overall and will definitely be coming back!

Overall a great place with a great menu, tasty food, decent service, and a great atmosphere. Very well shaded outdoor section and stylish interior. Food was good, but the Soba noodles with duck, while very tasty, was a bit too salty. They should significantly reduce the sodium content, perhaps by cutting the amount of soy sauce they use by 75% and allow the customer to add soy sauce as they like, since it is already on the table. It was very salty, but still good. The chicken salad was very good. The chicken spring rolls were much more like chicken croquettes with minced meat and breadcrumbs, not with the usual crispy / crunchy spring roll dough you might find at a more traditional Asian restaurant. They tasted ok, but they really aren’t “spring rolls”. I would suggest renaming this dish as “Asian chicken croquettes”. The crispy tuna roll was good, but rather small (4 pieces) and also not very crispy. The atmosphere and music was really great and our waiter was kind. A bit expensive compared with other nearby restaurants, but overall a nice experience. I would definitely go back, but I would order differently.

Amazing food, great vibe, cool music and excellent service. The lead waiter welcomed us with a huge smile in Greek because he could instantly tell from our accent that we're Greek. We tried the chicken Sando and the beef bao buns with sweet potato fries on the side. For drinks we had the fizzy mint soda and the hibiscus ice tea. It's a hidden gem in Zagreb's center and definitely a pleasant surprise. It is a tiny space so you better visit outside rush hour. If you want the most authentic experience you can get of Croatian cuisine but don’t have a Croatian Grandma, come here. You know it’s good because the locals come all the time and it is always booked in advance. It’s close enough to the touristic attractions that it is the perfect way to end a busy day exploring but also slightly hidden away from the tourist masses in a quiet corner. You will truly feel like a local. Not least because the staff are so nice and welcoming. Thank you especially to Rocko! I will miss the food every day till I return. In particular, Didova Tava and the traditional savoury doughnuts with soft cheese. The food was all freshly prepared from scratch with no corners being cut in the loving labour of preparing the food. You can truly taste the effort. The menu blends Balkan comforts with influences from cuisine close to the Italian border.

Lovely place, lovely staff. EXCEPTIONALLY LOVLY STAFF, we felt right at home. Maybe expectations were too high, and even tough we wouldn’t were to high, we expected a lot more. We ordered the traditional doughnuts with soft cheese and the braised beef with gnocchi. The former was okay, a little greasy, but the local cheese was delightful, the latter was a little bit disappointing. The beef and its gravy were flavorful, heartwarming and homey. Nevertheless, the gnocchi was bland and almost flavorless, maybe, just maybe, this is the way it’s supposed to be, and our Latin American taste buds wouldn’t know better. We recommend this place, specially because of the amazing service :))
