Tourist Trap — Avoid at All Costs
This place is a complete tourist rip-off. I’m warning you: do not eat here if you value your money, transparency, or basic restaurant etiquette.
From the start, the experience felt off. The server — who I suspect is one of the owners — refused to provide a menu, despite me asking directly. Instead, he insisted on telling us what to order, like we had no choice. This already felt manipulative, but it got worse.
Without asking, he brought out bread and salads — which we assumed were included with the meal. At the end? Surprise: we were charged €1.33 per person for bread, even though some of us didn’t even touch it. The so-called "salad" was 4 tomatoes and a few onions — for which we were charged a ridiculous €22. That’s just insane.
As for the main course — he proudly claimed they had “young, fresh lamb”, without ever mentioning a price (again, no menu). Anyone familiar with Croatian cuisine knows that late August is not the season for young lamb. But the real shock came with the bill: €120 for a single platter of lamb for 4 people — that’s €30 per person for something that was over-salted, chewy, and average at best.
When questioned, he got defensive and said “this is Croatian lamb, the best there is,” and claimed no one ever complains because the food is so good. But that’s just not true — it’s average, and absolutely not worth the inflated prices.
The restaurant was nearly empty, with only two other diners the entire time we were there — that should have been a warning sign.
This place survives on tricking tourists, not quality or honesty. It’s not just expensive — it’s dishonest and manipulative. You’ll be charged for things you didn’t order, won’t be told prices, and will walk away feeling ripped off and frustrated.
Do yourself a favor: stay away. Plenty of other honest and authentic places to enjoy Croatian lamb. This isn’t one of them.
