A true Baranja-style restaurant with all the local specialties you’d expect in this region. Even though we arrived without a reservation, the waiter still managed to find us a table. The food was delicious and full of authentic flavor. Unfortunately, the fish stew (fiš paprikaš) had a 45-minute wait, so I switched to the carp perkelt instead — and it turned out to be an excellent dish. Highly recommended if you enjoy traditional Baranja cuisine with rich, spicy, and hearty flavors.

The food was very tasty, especially Šaran na rašljama, which was full of flavor and perfectly prepared. There was live music, a cheerful and lively atmosphere, and excellent local wine. Overall, a great place to enjoy traditional cuisine in a fun setting. However, our waiter really brought the experience down — he moved in what felt like slow motion, seemed uninterested, and took ages to fulfill even simple requests. It was frustrating and took away from the overall experience.

A great Croatian experience! It's located in the old town part of Osijek, the food is tasty and is well priced.As an American I just happened to be walking towards the music I heard in the distance of Osijek, and what did I find, and entire fish cooking festival right out front of the restaurant. I was greeted by some very friendly Croatian, and from that moment on I was their guest. I was fortunate enough to enjoy a luscious meat platter and fish platter while tasting local wine and sparkling water. Croatian folk music was playing and all I could do was move to the beat, sit back, and take it all in.

I recommend making a reservation. When I arrived at around 730pm, and didn't have a reservation, they didn't seem to want to accept me...despite it not being full, even by the time I left. In the end the owner\manager grudgingly said I could eat, but only if I accepted the mixed grill. He allowed me no other food choice. I found this a bit odd, especially as when other local people arrived, they seemed to have a choice to freely order from the menu. Despite it not being what I wanted to eat, I tried it anyway, and the meat was quite good. Sausage, chevapi, chicken, pork all of which were cooked deliciously, and beef pattie which was so so. I might have rated the food higher had I been allowed to choose food I wanted. Ambience was nice, a bit quiet early on until the tables started to fill. There was some kind of band bringing in gear by the time I finished my meal, so I didn't get a chance to hear that. Despite the not so welcoming owner, the waitress was super nice, so I added stars for her service, or it would have been rated lower for the unwelcoming feel.

We entered the still-open venue, where there was also a private party. We made friends with some people, had some wine (and paid for it ourselves, as it was only fair), befriended others at the party, and started dancing. With the excuse of accidentally breaking a glass (a glass we were willing to pay for if they had asked), the owner kicked us out just because we were Italian. Stupid racist jerk. Terrible place. Shameful.

Food was edible, probably amazing after a few drinks. Not for sober people. Potato "with cheese" was over boiled (not baked) had some kind of funky cheese on it. Burger bun was cold, overall food not salty. Bolt delivery from across the city comes warmer than what we got. Dear chef and dear owner...i hope you can do better.

The interior is extremely nice it exceeds all expectations and looks like the interior of a much more expensive restaurant. The waiter was extremely nice and professional. And the most important part, the food, was absolutely amazing. I got the fried chicken dish, the person I was with got the Cheese Deluxe Burger, and we split the Carlsberg plate, and we were both amazed with the food, the portions are large and food absolutely delicious. I would recommend this place to everyone.

A Disastrous Experience – Unacceptable Service! This was, without a doubt, one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had in a bar. The service was downright appalling, and the attitude of the administrator was nothing short of arrogant and dismissive. Complete disrespect for customers. We visited on Valentine’s Day, ordered two drinks, and stepped outside for a quick cigarette just 15 minutes later. When we returned, our table had been cleared—our nearly full drinks taken away. I had even left my scarf on the chair, yet no one seemed to notice or care. What was I supposed to leave behind to indicate we were coming back—my phone? To make matters worse, rather than apologizing or offering to make things right, the staff gave us excuses and attitude. The waitress had even stepped outside and saw us standing right at the entrance, yet still claimed she "didn’t notice" us. How is that even possible? I asked for a refund, since at that point, we had no interest in staying. The waitress and the administrator refused. Instead, the waitress offered us two brandies, even though we had ordered Aperol Spritz and wine—not brandy, which I don’t even drink. The evening was completely ruined. I sincerely hope that management reads this and takes action, though judging by how poorly trained the staff is, I’m not optimistic. If this is the level of professionalism management accepts, it speaks volumes about their competence. You are nowhere near the standards of a well-run establishment. Train your staff to treat customers with respect and professionalism—before you lose them all.

Really just a great place to eat, I kept coming back again and again. The dish size is very filling, reasonably priced and everything was delicious. Service is friendly and helpful too and makes for a welcoming experience. Weekends it gets very busy, so you might want to make a reservation as it's a very popular place for weekends. I recommend the Baranya goulash, and the smoked carp.... Absolutely wonderful dishes. Definitely my favourite place in Osijek by far!

The place looks comfortable and traditional. It's all in wood, decorated with traditional items. Food is delicious and served in big portions. Price is standard but you get a lot for money. It's very popular place but even if you don't reserve a seats, they manage to give you one.. Fish chips are excellent and Fish Paprikaš the best! The "Taške", traditional desert is excellent! It's all home made!

Besides not informing us that there was no electricity and that we had to eat by candlelight, they also forgot to write down half of the order, and about the half-liter draft wine, I don't know what to say except that it's a shame that they pour watered down wine under Belje Graševina. Definitely a complete disaster of a restaurant, and I'll never go there again!! SHAME

Really liked the place, it is beautifully decorated with items from history of the place where is it located. Most importantly food was really delicious. We tried fisherman's soup and catfish porkolt, and after all that carp in forks. We didn't know how big servings are so we overdid it a bit, in short their servings are big, you will not leave the place hungry. It was all really delicious and soup/porkolt were nicely sesoned with Baranja paprika, it is spicy enough but not too much to kill your taste buds. Prices are reasonable and staff is really good and helpful. Recommending the place and will certainly return in the future.

Since my boyfriend and I were trying this type of cuisine for the first time, our waiter was incredibly helpful - patient, friendly, and genuinely invested in making sure we enjoyed our meal. I recently visited Franz Koch in Osijek. The food was tasty and nicely prepared, and the interior design is pleasant and stylish. However, the atmosphere felt quite dark due to the lighting, which made the space less inviting. Another drawback was that the air conditioning wasn’t turned on, which made the experience a bit uncomfortable. Lastly, even though the restaurant wasn’t crowded, the wait for our food was longer than expected for this type of cuisine. With some improvements in these areas, the overall experience could be much better, as the food itself is definitely worth trying.

Still one of the best places to eat in Osijek, with quite reasonable prices for high quality food and wine, I try to come here every year now because of their great consistency. Staff is also friendly and their wifi is good. I went with colleagues, and everything we ordered was tasty - pljukanci with black truffles, venison, gnocchi, I had tuna steak with curry sauce. Their desserts were also inspired - like a modern twist on local traditions (krempita, chocolate cake). With a glass of wine or soda, you could get a very decent meal for under 20 euros.

The interior is pleasant. The personnel courteous (setting aside that the waiter overcharged me, at first, by charging as if I drank 1L of wine, while it was 3 dcl, and it took them 5 business days to correct the error). We had a grilled fish in sauce with grilled vegetables, yet the sauce was served on the side though. It was done ok, but nothing out of ordinary. The white house wine (graševina) was below average. For the dessert, there were only pancakes offered and they were quite mediocre, too. I cannot appreciate enough restaurants that offer nothing more than pancakes, although the dessert is less significant part of the meal for me. One waiter almost denied us because he was not aware online reservations could be made. Thankfully, his colleague was more cautious, checked it and confirmed our reservation.
