Guys, if you’re a meat lover, you absolutely have to come here. The food is incredible! Honestly, I can’t even remember the last time I had meat this delicious. Every bite hit right in the heart. I’m already dreaming of coming back to this place. We arrived around 6 PM and there were plenty of free tables. But later in the evening, it got pretty full. We were surrounded mostly by Croatian diners, and as we all know, when the locals eat there, it’s a solid sign of quality and great taste!

Papar Grill in Makarska quickly became our favorite place. The waiters were very kind and professional, and even though there were some language difficulties, they handled them patiently and kindly. The portions were big and the food was very tasty – we tried the Vienna steak, the Zagreb steak, and the Papar burger, all really good choices. The fresh draft Ožujsko beer was also a great addition to the meal. We will definitely come back many times during our holiday because this place gives a really nice experience.

If you are looking for a place to eat in Makarska that has it all - this is it! Great ambiance, amazing food and very nice and extremely helpful staff. The food we ate was suggested to us by the host that is also one of the kindest people I’ve met and it was so delicious. The view is beautiful as the restaurant is located at the beach so you also get the sound of waves and amazing sunsets with your dinner. Can’t recommend this place enough, give it a try it is so worth it!

We started with the burrata and tomatoes – it was very delicious. For the main course, we chose the “meat platter” from the grill section, and it was the best decision we could’ve made. The portion was generous, and the variety of meats was incredible – each one was different and insanely tasty. The steak alone (one of the meats on the platter) was perfectly medium cooked and flavorful – honestly worth the 30 euros on its own. The chicken, ćevapi, shashlik, and pork cutlet were all delicious as well! We also ordered a sauce on the side, as it doesn’t come with the platter (pepper one was perfect). All in all, it was an amazing dinner with the sound of the sea in the background. Highly recommended! Also, special thanks for the good service!

Definitely one of the better restaurants in Makarska. We were recommended Ivo by our apartment host, and we were not disappointed. The food has the same price as the hotel restaurants by the beach, but has much higher quality. The staff is friendly and the interior decor is modern and clean. If you plan on going here between 7 and 9 pm, be sure to come by the day before or earlier during the day and book a table, because the places can fill up outside!

Walked into Konoba Veliko Brdo and was immediately hit with a cloud of cigarette smoke inside the restaurant. People were smoking at their tables like it was 1995, and the whole place reeked. It’s supposed to be illegal to smoke indoors in Croatia, but clearly nobody here cares. To make it worse, it was raining outside, so sitting on the terrace wasn’t even an option. I felt so uncomfortable that I left after barely 3 minutes. Definitely not the place if you value a clean, smoke-free dining experience. Visited on September 10, 2025, around 6:15 PM

Nice restaurant on the side of the mountain in Veliko Brdo. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. We had the house specialty of beef stew with pasta noodles. The traditional recipe takes three days to cook and the flavour is out of this world! The waiter helped us choose wines by providing generous samples. Excellent traditional home-style food with very good service. After dinner we enjoyed the house rakija and cherry brandy. Staff speaks English for those who don't know Croatian.

I ordered a tuna steak in Mirakul Makarska and it turned out to be really really salty. I don’t know if too much salt was added to it or whether the fish was unfresh. My mistake that i didnt have courage to say it to the waiter. I hope that it was fresh and the cook will do better in the future because the place seems to be a nice one.

We were served by a very friendly young lady and although we can speak a little Croatian, she kindly read through all the daily menu items and explained each. The sea bass I had was lovely and my wife had goulash pasta. Excellent value!

The food was pretty standard overall. The bruschetta was surprisingly underwhelming, to be honest. Sorry, it’s just that you expect something a bit more interesting than a plain slice of baguette with garlic, cheese, and tomato. There are definitely better versions of this dish elsewhere in the same city. But the view is absolutely stunning, overlooking the beautiful sea.

It was one of the best experiences when it comes to bars in Croatia. We stopped by on our way to Split. Makarska is so beautiful that we wanted to stay overnight, and the overall experience of this bar made it even better. The cocktail with yuzu was so refreshing that I had to have two. I could tell they pay attention to detail, and they are proud to be a professional gourmet cocktail bar. The pizza that the table next to us ordered looked great, too. I highly recommend this place.

We go to this konoba every year when we are in Tučepi. I can't say a bad word. The food there is amazing and always well prepared. We love this place! The mussels were great.. the veal medallions with mushroom sauce are top notch. Spaghetti plate for two was luxurious, their Peka is great, black risotto was a great experience, very tasty! Everything we ate there was amazing. Love this place! Thanks for everything ❤️❤️

we ordered a plate of steaks, the gentleman asked about the degree of doneness, we asked for medium and received raw, after pointing out the incorrect degree of doneness, the gentleman took the steak away and returned it to us with a burnt well done. Delicious pepper sauce.

We had dinner here earlier this evening on our first night in Makarska. The restaurant has a lovely ambience, but unfortunately our experience with the service didn’t quite match. Our waiter seemed a bit disengaged, and even a simple request such as asking for directions to the bathroom was not received warmly. I spoke Croatian during all our interactions (writing this review in English for clarity). We hope this was just an off night, as we look forward to experiencing the warm Dalmatian hospitality we’ve heard so much about during the rest of our stay.

We came to Makarska for a shorter vacation. All in all, we were cooking by ourselves, but have decided to go one night out dining. We decided this restaurant/pizza bar due to the recommendations from people. The recommendations turned out as great and from the start of being greeted by the staff and all the way to eat the pizza, was awesome. The waiter was great, polite and really took time for our good feelings. The pizza was one of the best I have eaten in the past year. It was really well done and tasty The only downfall to this place and they have no control over, is the nearby main road. Can be a bit loud

We have come across this bar accidentally while looking for some nice food in Promajna. We haven’t had much expectations but it was amazing! The portions were enormous and the prices were very good, €13 for pizza, €14 for cevapcici and €6.50 for the drink. The drink wasn’t watered down as well! It was a pretty good location as well with the view of the beach. If you’re looking for a quick snack and a drink this is the place to go as other restaurants in the area do seem to be dodgy. Definitely recommend.

We arrived as a party of 19, being accommodated at short notice. We were advised by our guide that the Del Fuego burger was great. It certainly was - a very hearty portion. It was well priced too. Other group members had a variety of dishes. The fish dishes seemed particularly impressive.

Nice place.. Butt... The mest was not trender in the beef salad. Good taste on the picante burger, but it could have been more picante and had some more salad. The bread to Meat and salat ratio var 70/30. Chilled beer glass was excelent and made the beer perfekt 👌
