The food was absolutely amazing. We ordered Tomina Tagliata, BBQ ribs and roasted veal with potatoes. Veal was soft and full of flavour and tagliata was just straight up amazing in every bite. For dessert we had some cheese cake ice cream and lemon tart. That was also just what you want from a dessert. Overall great experience and we will be coming back.

They don't offer a large menu, but those few dishes are really good 👌. Servings are big, you won't leave with a half full stomach. We had a pork ribs, which had quite a lot of meat on them, and were well done. We also had a burger, which was quite big, with real meat inside instead of a pljeskavica. Prices are ok, not too expensive, not too cheap. Service is also quite good with a nice atmosphere of a local restaurant. It has a small nearby parking area free of charge, but big enough to accommodate all their customers. We will definitely return again to check the rest of the menu.

I ran into this restaurant by chance and was blown away. Although it is a modern restaurant - pizzeria, they maintain classic and proven quality. We ate pizza and I don't remember the last time I ate something so good. For dessert, I chose gibanica and I'm delighted that it doesn't taste like mass-produced cakes, but like a homemade creation. All praise goes to the waiters. Very friendly and ready to help and find a place that is apparently very difficult to find.

Tried different pizza here. Visited 20+ times. Each time, food was great. Only once had to wait a bit longer for my food, but that didn't effect food quality or atmosfere.

This restaurant you have to visit intentionally, it is not the one on the way just to stop. Interior is nice, some charming details, but nothing spectacular. Terrace, actually the view of Rijeka is something to see. The food is very good, portions average, the price acceptable, nothing to point out. Finally, the service was excellent, very polite waitress. Recommended.

This is the third time we came here and were surprised that they only improved. Loved the food, stuff was really nice and helping. We ordered two beef soups and got what could pass as four person portions. It was served in a cute bowl I wanted to bring home hahaha... We planed to order dessert, but after the main course we were stuffed and couldn't eat more. :-P Loved it! :-)

I had an excellent dining experience with amazing service in a beautiful atmosphere. I have eaten in many restaurants in Rijeka, but this one has surpassed them all. As a chef myself, I was impressed by the flavors and cooking techniques used in the dishes I tried from the menu today. The ribs were cooked using sous vide and were so tender that they fell off the bone, while the ravioli were perfectly cooked and al dente. If all restaurants in Rijeka offered this level of quality, it would truly be a fine dining revolution. Well done, everyone! I can’t wait to visit again!

Tea

Google Reviews
Fairly disappointed with tonight's service. I made a reservation for 7 people (4 adults and 3 children) in advance. It started well, but very quickly the entire service ended up very slow and inattentive. We waited a while for the mains, and after we got them, another half an hour went by and we were done with the mains before anyone asked if the food was okay. The meat in kids burgers was very thick and dry, not appropriate for children. There is no kids menu, so kids ate adult portions, which is such an overkill, complete waste of food. It was very difficult getting the attention from the waiters to order a drink. They had no strawberry fruit juice, and then when I asked if they had cedevita, they only had lemon flavour, while my child only likes orange. The waiter offered to make the drink from his own supply, which was appreciated, however for a restaurant of this calibre, the lack of choices was very disappointing. It took a long time for someone to take our dessert order (a few sorbets, and two desserts) and then we waited 25 minutes to get essentially a simple order of ice creams, without any apology for the wait time. When I mentioned this to our waiter, the response was "it got busy in the restaurant". Mind you, I made a reservation in advance, and the place was nearly empty, it's a poor excuse. For this type of restaurant, it's not acceptable. Food was decent, lamb shank and the chocolate story were great, the rest didn't amaze. I wouldn't go back due to poor service and dry atmosphere, I can't recommend it. Plenty of other places with better food, service and overall value.

Jist is one of the top meals and restaurant experiences we've had in Europe. You can expect high quality dining with customer-centricity at the heart of everything the restaurant offers. The restaurant gets a 10/10 for: -Wine selection (loved the variety of Croatian wines and extensive offerings on hand) -Steak options and quality of the food (don't skip the beef tartar with browned butter and the Japanese wagyu experience) -Customer service (extreme attention to details that take a good restaurant experience to the next level) -Knowledgeable wait staff (educated us on the food and wine selections and patiently answered our questions) -Friendly environment (as an English speaking family with children, we felt welcome and comfortable)

Trip-a-holic

Google Reviews
A mixed experience to be honest... out of 2 dishes ordered, 1 was decent I'd say 4/5, the 2nd one was barely eatable with the feeling like someone poured out half of the can of salt in the pot... The whole comment of the staff was - a smile, and that's it, not even a slightest hint of an apology. Of course, tastes are different, but this was obviously a mistake (even for someone who enjoys salty foods, this was an overkill). The "vibe" in the restaurant is that of a classic lunch-break bistro, clean and well arranged, however, the service has left a lot to be desired, although that seemed to vary between waiters, ours was unfortunatelly - very underwhelming :( Not saying that the restaurant is bad, I'm sure that some will find some good food in there, or perhaps have the luck of getting a good waiter, but we're not planning on going back there.

The name already sets the mood, at least for the pizza side of things. We’re in Rijeka... well, technically just outside it, less than an hour from Italy by car - but tradition and culture here have always taken a very different road. I grew up not too far from this place, and the pizza I remember from those days tastes exactly like it does here. Probably due to the topping cheese - more fermented tang than Italian mozzarella creaminess - and maybe the (lower and longer) cooking temperature. I’m not here to start a "which is better" debate; they’re simply different species in the pizza family tree. Case in point: my last order. A saucy, messy, deeply satisfying creation that I’ve never once seen in Italy - but is quite common in the US. They call it by its Americanized name: Bolognese pizza - essentially the ragù, cheese, fresh onions over a pita or pizza base. Yes, meat sauce on a pizza. If you want to truly understand this region, start here - with a fork in one hand and a beer (hydration purposes, obviously) in the other. The setting is absolutely worth the trip. Perched high on a windy hill, it’s a penthouse view of Rijeka’s coast on one side and the mighty Istrian mountains on the other. The breeze will try to steal your napkin; the food will keep your soul warm while your skin thanks you for bringing a jacket. One final consideration: prices. Somehow, despite being "almost Italy", they’re higher than some actual Italian pizzerias across the border - but still comfortably lower than what a German or Austrian restaurant would charge for the same thing. And if you're considering the very affordable beer price (or multiple), than price wise comparation to Italy wins.

Loved it, immediately got a table for 4, although most of the tables had reservations on them or were already full. Ordered pizzas which were amazing, nice bubbly crust, good quality toppings and good amount aswell. We sat outside which was very nice. Staff were quick and professional without being pushy. Kids also enjoyed the pizzas, especially the nutella pizza for dessert. Price was good for the quality of the experience.

Google Reviews
Amazing seafood restaurant with a big menu, fresh homemade food and a lovely atmosphere. The place is very popular so reservations are required. I ate fish soup for the starter and grilled sting ray with chard and potatoes for the main meal. Both my brother and his girlfriend ate grilled squid with french fries. We had lemon tart as the dessert. The food was absolutely phenomenal, especially the soup and the tart. My brother complained that the price portion ratio is on the low side and I can confirm that. If not for the soup and the tart I would have left hungry if I only ate the main meal. There is a local bard who plays traditional Croatian folk and interacts with the guests. I really enjoyed his presence and music, however my brother was rather uncomfortable and I admit it was difficult to converse with my group when he was playing. The only thing that the restaurant could improve is their service and atmosphere. I reserved a table for 3 for my brother, his girlfriend and myself for late lunch, at 17 o'clock. When we got there it turned out the waiter misheard my name over the phone because there was no reservation in my name. The waiter then told us to wait outside because there were no free tables. That made me feel annoyed because I reserved a table for 3 and I arrived on time. Luckily some people were just leaving so we didn't have to wait outside. Also, at the end they wanted to charge me €4 for the lemon tart even though the menu says €3.5. per piece of homemade cake. When I pointed that out they immediately subtracted €1.5 from the bill which was fair. Regarding their atmosphere, they have indoor seating and a covered terrace. This means the waiters need to open the front door often in order to go out which makes it quite annoying and cold for the customers at the table near the front door. The entrance to the toilet is located outside at the terrace which means the toilet is very cold and it is very unpleasant to go to the toilet during winter time. Apart from the high price, this restaurant would be perfect if they solved these issues. As a Croatian who grew up on a coast and has been eating this food all my life, I definitely recommend this place!

I felt as if I had attempted a robbery, considering how disproportionate the quality of the food was compared to the cost. This even included the price of coffee. The warm atmosphere, the local clientele, and the menu only in Croatian (which I appreciated, despite not speaking a word) made it a delightful experience. The host was gracious and hospitable, a true refuge in paradise. Every new guest who passed by greeted me as if I were a local. The service was flawless, and the food was the best I’ve had in a long time, and I live in Italy. Please, tourists, don’t ruin this place. Be quiet and respectful. If you come for lunch, just ask for the daily menu. Don’t even inquire about its contents (unless you have allergies). You will have one of the most wonderful dining experiences ever.
