Views are spectacular and the decor is gorgeous. Food was nice enough but not amazing. I had the monkfish which was a little dry. Starters were great though! We shared burrata and spring rolls which were very tasty.

We enjoyed a beautiful dinner next to the water with our server Victor. We ordered a bottle of wine and for appetizers we did the octopus salad and green risotto, both excellent. For our entrees we had the beef and the catch of the day. Victor served the fish table side and deboned it right in front of us. He finished it off with a touch of olive oil and it was so tender and tasty. We finished our dinner with espresso martinis and took in the sunset. Definitely recommend for those looking to fine dine in Split!

Absolutely delicious food! The chef clearly knows what he's doing – the fish and seafood are fresh and aromatic, and the pasta is perfectly cooked with rich, flavorful sauces. It may not be the cheapest place, but the portions are huge, which definitely makes up for the price. It's a great idea to order a few dishes on platters and share them. Highly recommended!

What a fantastic neighbourhood taverna. With great reviews on seafood, 2 of our party of 4 had seafood. One had chicken and I had vegetarian. Our Sommelier had wonderful suggestions on wine and was such a lovely man. Adriatic shells, according to my sister, was one of the best 5 meals she has had in her life. Dad got to choose his own fish, he was very happy!

The waiters and the cook at the food bar are very friendly, especially the waiter Ivan from Slovakia always wears a big smile. We went there every day for brunch during our stay in Split. Also the locals came to eat at this restaurant. It is very recommended.

Found this when googling cheap food, as by far the meals we ate was quite pricey, didn’t help that they are in the city centre, because we have an elderly companion with us we didn’t want to walk too far. This was only 10 minutes walk from where we were staying and it’s the furthest we’ve traveled for food. The restaurant looked clean and decor excellent, very relaxed atmosphere and the waiter was very nice and welcoming. The food was so good and we even felt like we can actually have dessert because it wasn’t expensive. Me and my sister shared a mussel stew, black risotto (which waiter miss described as monk fish but it was more like cuttlefish due to texture) and a mixed salad. The risotto was excellent and not very salty and the mussels had plenty of flavour and the mixed salad was also tasty. We then shared an Apple pie and ice cream, the Apple pie was soft (unlike the ones back in uk) and so much apple, not even that sweet (unlike uk). So it was perfect and just the right amount for 2 people to share! I would recommend this restaurant if you want good food, decent service and reasonably priced.

This was a nice restaurant in a suburban neighborhood away from the main tourist area. The prices were very reasonable. Service was attentive and helpful. The food was delicious and nicely presented. There was nothing that we ordered that was terrible, everthing was good. We sat in the side dining room which was much nicer and quieter than the main dining room. It was an overall wonderful experience and evening.

This restaurant was recommended by my accommodation host. As a solo traveler, I went alone for dinner for my birthday. To say the flavors really surprised me is an understatement! I had the stuffed squid and arugula side salad, it was mind-blowing. The filling of the larger squid was not cooked as nicely as the smaller, but I pushed it aside as everything else was just so delicious! I had to go a second time for lunch before leaving. This time, I tried the monkfish wrapped in bacon skewers, and again, the arugula salad (this is the best thing ever!), followed by semifreddo. I wasn't able to book either time that I went, but I was accommodated at the welcome table, which I didn't mind. I would definitely book if possible as it was packed both times, with all locals, which is always a fantastic sign. I highly recommend Duje. The flavors will really surprise and delight you. Sadly, it is now my favourite restaurant. 🥲

The food was delicious, service was attentive and friendly. The restaurant is outside of the city walls and is a nice break from it all in a quiet suburban neighborhood. We sat outside and enjoyed people watching as they were coming back from the beach. The food was very good especially the Cevapi and the fries. The mussels were also very good along with the tuna steak. All in all a great experience.

My boyfriend and I visited during our quick stop in Split. We arrived loaded with three bags, and the waiters immediately offered us an ideal spot. Apart from water and iced tea, we both ordered medium-well baby steak. The only variation was in our sides — grilled vegetables (which they had no problem modifying) and fries (which originally come with the steak). Meanwhile, I visited the bathroom, which wasn’t as pleasant as I expected, and the door was quite transparent. Nevertheless, the service was very quick. However, I definitely noticed a difference between my steak and my boyfriend’s. His was cooked exactly as it should have been, while mine was slightly undercooked for medium-well — though I still enjoyed it because it was juicier. I also had a smaller but thicker piece. The grilled vegetables were okay, but I expected something a bit more special. On the other hand, I found the fries great — an ideal side for a steak. Prices are in line with the Croatian market.

I have no words for Gusar catering other then perfect. They did all the catering for our wedding at Villa Dalmacija in June 2025. We had food tasting a year before which was expectational, the time and detail they went into was second to none. On the wedding day the food and drink was outstanding. Every dish was amazing and nothing was too much. The staff were incredible and the guys on the bar were the best. From making sure no one ever had an empty glass, to remembering everyone's drinks orders they just couldn't be faulted. They were so attentive and went out their way to ensure we had everything we needed! The lead up and on the day Monika was incredible and for me planning our full wedding from the UK myself I couldn't of done it without Monika and the reassurance she gave us. These guys deserve so much praise as it all exceeded our expectations and beyond! Thank you for honestly making our day, every single one of you!

“Fantastic lunch, great flavors, and outstanding service” We had lunch at Bakra today, arriving when there were only a couple of tables occupied, but by the time we left, the restaurant had filled up significantly. The atmosphere was relaxed and fun, with a warm vibe that I can imagine becomes an even greater hangout spot later in the day. Our waiter was superb – friendly, attentive, and spoke excellent English. He introduced us to some of their signature dishes, including the chopstick (Ćevapi-style minced meat patty) which was exceptionally good. It had deep, rich flavors far beyond a typical American hamburger, clearly blended with traditional Balkan spices and techniques. We also ordered gnocchi in truffle sauce, prosciutto pizza, and a beautiful charcuterie and cheese board. Everything was well-prepared and delicious. The waiter suggested a local brandy for us to try – while it wasn’t to everyone’s taste, it was a cool cultural experience and I appreciated him bringing that to our table. Overall, Bakra exceeded our expectations for lunch in Split. The food was fresh and flavorful, the environment was welcoming, and our waiter truly made the meal memorable. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Split who wants authentic local flavors and a great team taking care of you.

I came here for dinner and had an enjoyable meal here. I sat outside, was quickly sat and staff were friendly and attentive. I ordered the octopus salad starter and it was one of the best dishes I had on my Croatia trip. It was quite rich but so much flavour. For main I had the gnocchi with seafood. The seafood and sauce were delicious but the gnocchi was a bit overworked and tough to eat. I was also given free bread to help soak up the sauces from both dishes. If I had more time in Split, I would have come back to try more of their menu as there were other delicious options to choose from.

Been here twice and considering coming once more before I leave 🙂. The service is extremely well organized, every server and the host notice every table and their needs, not just the one server whose table you’re in, not that common in Split in my experience. And they are so nice with each other! Food is good, too. The first night I had the truffle linguine - they were very generous with the truffle and the portion would feed a very hungry person with a good appetite. The burrata was also delicious, although the accompanying salad could have been better dressed, but that’s the only minor thing to bring out. Tomato soup with shrimp was as good as expected. Overall my best culinary experience in Split, so far 😉.

The place looks wonderful inside and out. When we arrived the outside terrace was full (or reserved) so we sat inside, which remained almost empty. We were initially served drinks by a charming and friendly waiter. As the restaurant got busy we ‘lost’ our waiter and it seemed we had to grab random passing waiters, who were all working very busily to serve the outside terrace. It felt like we were forgotten. Food was all totally under seasoned. Except the grilled vegetables which were over salted (but nothing else). Fries were oily and limp. The Octopus starter was enough for three people (see pic)! I had a tuna strak, supposedly rare, it was medium to well done, not pink at all. My guest had pork in bacon. Again no seasoning. We sent the fries back early on. At a certain point, a live band came on outside and the music (amped) was pipes inside. It was so loud you couldn’t hear a guest opposite on the same table. I initially i saw the manger attend and turn it down, but it reverted to very loud. I complained twice. But he didn’t attend to it again. We literally had to shout at the waiter as we tried to pay. As we had been forgotten it took ages to gran a waiter as they rushed past us in a blur. When we paid, although they took the uneaten fries off the bill, there was no other attempt to ameliorate our very poor experience. Rubbish evening. Would not go again.

Bome was an excellent dining experience and deserves (at least) a Michelin Bib Gourmand. The 3 course meal was extremely affordable and super delicious. The beef tartare was fresh and tasty, the sirloin was perfectly salted, and the apple dessert was an interesting take on a classic. All of that, plus an amuse bouche, plus a final dessert treat, plus a well curated wine pairing, came out to 160 euros for a meal that could’ve been double. The service was also extremely attentive and the restaurant felt brand new. Bome hasn’t hit the mainstream yet, but it sure will soon.

Great taste for those who love to try new flavours, small portions for those who love to eat. I really, really liked the zucchini soup and definitely wish it was bigger but I knew the portion sizes would be small. Service is great, presentation as well. It’s more touristic than local. Better get to the restaurant by a taxi, not your own car (difficulties in parking) Atmosphere is ok, the interior could be played around - fake planting could be omitted as it captures oils from the nearby opened kitchen (even though there is an extractor); microwave could be moved somewhere less visible (I don’t think it’s appropriate to be where it is considering the high end services provided); space is quite small so maybe a good floor to ceiling height mirroring could be a good way to make the space feel more spacious (could try for example substitute the planting with a mirrored wall)

We had the grilled octopus, steak, and seafood stew — all beautifully cooked and full of flavor. The octopus was tender with a perfect char, the steak juicy and well-seasoned, and the seafood stew rich and satisfying. Warm winter cocktails were a highlight too — creative and well-balanced. With warm service and a cozy courtyard setting, Šug delivered a memorable dining experience. A must-visit in Split.

A delicious dining experience! The Prawn Pasta was a surprise favorite for us. The Tuna was incredible and the Octopus was perfection. We were so glad to try the traditional Croation dessert as it incredibly delicious and not overly sweet.

We had the MOST amazing time at this restaurant. Out skilled waiter, Mike, really impressed us with his service and knowledge- he was definitely playing a big part of our experience in this restaurant. The food, it got us all speechless - and we are a group of food lovers and some of us actually work with food. The number one dish was the seafood risotto with cheese ice cream, like how - how?? So so good, heavenly. The other dishes were good too, linguine was a slightly overcooked and pannacotta nit that creamy BUT everything else was just perfect. 9,5/10. Thank you SO much for making our evening unforgettable 🩷

A very atmospheric place. Extensive menu, but unfortunately many dishes are unavailable, which is a pity because the dishes served are of a very good standard. Great shrimp cream, with a really large amount of them, very good shrimp scampi with vegetables, everything grilled perfectly to the point, a plate of fish and seafood for two is quite a challenge in terms of quantity 🤪

The service wasn’t great, to say the least. They forgot to include a couple of dishes in the order and made a few more mistakes during dinner. I had a meat plate, and the meat was either dry or too salty. Everything came with cold fries and cold grilled vegetables. The interior was well-done, and the decorations were quite nice. All in all, not recommended due to poor service and unappetizing food.

We found this nice place next to city centre. This grill place has to offer some nice grill dishes. We had tuna steak, hake fish file, ribeye steak and Čevapi. We were all pleased. With food, and more so we were offered some Honey spirit similar to mead on the house. It was awesome lunch. And waiter was very nice and friendly. If you are around city centre and want some grill, this place is a must.

Brilliant big but is when you go in as they are a family restaurant which has fresh everything so you need to check what they have. They speak Brilliant English the only problem is that the younger waiter supports Arsenal and of course Split like everyone in Split does.
