This is a fantastic new restaurant at the idillic scenery of Marija Bistrica, far from Zagreb city bustle !!! Normal prices and AWESOME MEALS!!! Very cool atmosphere and architecture. BRAVO!!!!

Food was fine and quite rich plate. We took chicken with fennel, veil in egg white wash, Gorgonzola and Italian herbs. All arrived in reasonable time yet we waited for pancakes around 30 mins and had to waiver them off. It was too long to wait for dessert. As complimentary, we got their artisan ice cream which is great. There should be more waiters available especially on weekend.

Saturday evening. November 1 2025. We stopped at a roadside restaurant, Purga. We had high expectations. But the unpleasantness started as soon as we walked in: most of the tables were uncleared, and a weary waiter redirected us when we tried to sit by the window. Throughout the service, his attitude was cold, impersonal, at times even cynical. We waited too long for drinks, and even longer for food. When I asked about the salad plate options, I was told they only had a daily salad and a Shopska salad. I ordered the Shopska. My husband ordered his meal. The beef soup was good. But… When the waiter placed the soup in front of my husband, my husband tried to help, but the waiter rudely remarked that he should leave the plate alone or he’d end up in the emergency room. And that was certainly not said jokingly. When he brought the rest of the food, he didn’t say “enjoy your meal,” didn’t make eye contact, and wasn’t friendly. We had the feeling all this was happening because he was tired and had to work on a holiday. Or perhaps because we weren’t of the “right” nationality. Because when I was paying and he once again insisted on explaining that the cheese on the Shopska salad was the best and absolutely not too salty, another waiter joined in. I calmly replied that the salad was 90% peppers, almost no tomatoes or cucumbers, and no onions at all. As we were leaving, both waiters commented to the next table, making jokes about people from my country. Mocking my nationality. Mocking my complaint that the salad was far too salty. And finally: the prices are very high, side dishes are charged separately, and the wine is overpriced. Above all, what’s missing is a kind, welcoming attitude toward guests, a professional word, a look in the eyes, a small gesture of friendliness. What’s missing is that pleasant feeling. What’s missing is genuine Zagorje warmth. And it’s not even just about the overly salty cheese on the salad or high prices (by the way, all the vegetables in the salad were already salted, far too much, and the waiter even explained to me that I should mix the cheese into the salad, as if I didn’t know that). My negative review comes from the staff’s attempt at the Purga restaurant to turn our day into something unpleasant. But they didn’t succeed: we went to Đurmanec for some excellent Zagorje štruklji and fixed our mood 😊

It was amazing. The waitress was very friendly, helpful and funny. Took care of us. And the food was amazing. First time wehad something like that. Cevapi were great by themsleves but wrapped with ham and cheese and rolled into the dough. Amazing. Will come back when we are without motorcycles riding around.

The meals are huge, moderately priced, very tasty and the staff professional and friendly. They also deliver lunches daily, except for weekends and have catering service. If you find yourself in this tiny corner of Croatia, do not let yourself be distracted by modest exterior.

The name "fast food" is not at all appropriate for this cozy place of fine food. It was because of that name that we almost skipped it after Sunday's hike. On the contrary, Debelko deserves a more specific name. This bistro in the middle of my picturesque Zagorje offers a pleasant atmosphere despite its location by the road, really tasty food and pleasant staff. Passing through Marija Bistrica, it deserves your attention and a stop at least for a short snack and refreshment.

This one is strange to review. The interior and the exterior of the place looks like it has seen better days... Way better days. But pizza here is HUGE and tasty. Staff is polite and helpful, there is a lot of parking space at the back and prices are reasonable. Will be back if I'll ever pass by again.

All praise for the wonderful ladies who work here. When we arrived, an older lady directed us to the upper terrace, which is spacious, tidy and shaded; we ordered kotlovina and čevapi, they have homemade apple juice, everything was very good. They have their own homemade products; apple cider vinegar, pumpkin flour, corn flour and more.. We took the pumpkin flour and when we left, the lady gave us another kilo of corn because she didn't want to take a tip. Very, very pleasant atmosphere, fast service and these wonderful women who give that touch of home. Good luck and success in your work and we will definitely see you again. 😁

Prices are reasonable, staff is friendly but food is nothing special. We tried the cevapi in a bun which were tasty, as well as the onion, but the bun was dry and there was no ajvar - apparently it is ordered separately. All in all, to satisfy hunger and sit down solidly, but that's it.
